Computer and Internet Use Policy/Guidelines

The library provides computers for accessing the internet, checking email, research, etc. There is no charge for using the computers/internet.

AGE RESTRICTIONS AND INTERNET ACCESS

Computers may be used by people of any age, but those younger than 18 must have a library card with a parent’s signature or guardian’s signature.

As required by the Children’s Internet Protection Act, all internet accessible computers are filtered with a technology protection measure to block access to visual depictions of material deemed obscene or child pornography, or to any material deemed harmful to minors.

The library cannot guarantee confidentiality or safety on the internet. The library is not responsible for the content available on the internet and assumes no responsibility for the use of information obtained this way.

PATRON CONDUCT

Because the library is a public space, the library requires that you use the computers in a responsible manner. This includes respecting the rights of others, not invading the privacy of others and not engaging in any prohibited activity.
